boat diving
-- there's a lot more to itNot all divers have a lot of experience with boats. Not to worry. In this class you'll learn some boating terminology especially as it might relate to a diver who's a guest on a boat.
If you're diving from the shore, you can spread your bcd, regulator bag, fins, mask, snorkel, wetsuit, towel, drybag . . . and on and on . . . wherever you like. In a crowded boat, it's different. Space is at a premium. Minimize. Your fellow divers will love you for it.
There's a strong current at your dive site. From which side of the boat should you enter the water?
You go out for a day of diving on a friend's boat. Must the boat have a dive flag? How big? Positioned where on the boat?
Should you have emergency medical oxygen on board a boat you're diving from? Maybe you're legally required to have it. Or is it prohibited?
These are some of the things you'll consider in our boat diving class.
Prerequisites: be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver, Junior Open Water Diver or have a qualifying certification from another training organization; and be 10 years of age or older.
