drift diving
-- increase the peace
dive flag towed on drift dive
Many people love drift dives because they provide an opportunity to see a wide swath of the underwater landscape with a relatively small investment of energy. Let the current do the work.
Currents can help you drift along and see an entire site that would be a several-dive enterprise without the current. But what do you do when you get to the end of the wreck or the reef and the current's still cranking? Good planning is important.
What causes currents? How do (should?) currents influence my diving plan?
How do my buddy and I stay together on a drift dive?
Do we need to tow a dive flag float? What's the proper way to do it?
You'll do two drift dives with your instructor applying all the proper techniques for a fun and safe drift dive.
You'll learn about this and more in the drift diving class.
prerequisites: be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver, Junior Open Water Diver or have a qualifying certification from another training organization; and be 12 years of age or older.
